So there's no skirting around it, we didn't make our Kickstarter goal. Though we are sad, we still think all of our supporters are the duck's quack! We are so grateful for all forms of support we've received already so early in the process, and we want to assure you that this is far from the end of Glad Rags.

In fact, the journey is just beginning!  We're kicking it into high gear anyway, as we get ready to head out on the road this Wednesday. 

So what does this mean exactly for Glad Rags?  Without Kickstarter money, Glad Rags will take a little more time to go through the post-production process.  Instead of dedicated days to work just on the finishing of Glad Rags, we will make the time in between working day jobs that pay the bills.  We will work nights and weekends to carry it through the editing process, and slowly thread the story of Glad Rags.  We're not worried, though, because we know we still have everything we need to make Glad Rags the berries, including your continued support, through the process! We can't wait to share the final product with you!

Today marks the end of Week One for our Glad Rags Kickstarter project!  First of all, we want to express our greatest #gladitude to family, friends and strangers turned friends for your wonderful support, feedback and overall gladness for our cause.  This experience has been nothing short of amazing and the rest is really yet to come!  Be sure to spread the word about the importance of sustainable fashion, and promoting change in style and don’t forget our awesome vintage and handmade rewards!  

Besides a great big thanks for an awesome first week, we wanted to share a little bit of our personal life with you to give you a look inside what it’s like to be a Glad Gal.  Currently, Glad Gal Vallerie is in the process of packing up her life in Connecticut to move to Los Angeles, hence the road-trip aspect of our project.  Throughout her pre-move activities, she has been conscious of reducing waste through clothing donations, repurposing old shirts for cleaning, and figuring out a use or new home for items she must part with.  

For example, the clothing you saw us sitting under and throwing at you in our video has since been donated or handed down to friends and family.  Some items she even traded with her friends to refresh not only her wardrobe, but their closets as well!  

Did you skip spring cleaning this year?  We know it’s the summer but on the next rainy day, take a moment and go through that drawer or shelf you haven’t touched in a while.  Decide what to keep, reuse, or donate.  Baby steps, Glad Gang, and the best part is, you’re allowed to replace that dress you decided to donate, may we suggest a vintage 1960s cocktail get-up or sundress?  

Go on, get out your Glad Rags and promote change, in style, because Glad Gang, that trend will never end.

Yesterday we went into Boston to check out the SoWa Vintage Market to meet some vintage sellers in the Boston area. SoWa happens every Sunday inside an old brick building and is a beautiful indoor market showcasing collections by vintage sellers from all across MA and some from RI as well. We met some fantastic and enthusiastic people and are exciting to start scheduling interviews for as soon as next weekend!

In the meantime, we're working hard on prepping the Kickstarter campaign for launch next week! Keep your eyes open on this page for a link to the campaign soon, where you can watch our special video and learn even more about the project. We're looking forward to sharing it with you!
